マリオ・ガッダ(1931-2007)
Gaetanoの息子。
Son of Gaetano, he started to work as a violin maker at the age of 17, under the guidance of his father. He has made over 500 instruments based on the class designs, especially Balestrieli’s. He used either alcohol-or oil-based varnish, golden and amber with red shades, Scarampella-and Balestrieri-style.
He also makes “copies”of authors of the late 19th and early 20th century. He works in Sant’Antonio di Porto Mantovano.
モダンイタリアの巨匠といえば、Pressenda （プレセンダ）、Rocca（ロッカ）、Fagnora （ファニョー
ラ）、Scarampella （スカランペラ）など現在数千万円の値段の付いている楽器があります。
その、Mantova の巨匠スカランペラ （ステファノ）に17年間師事しヴァイオリン製作を学んだのが
マリオの父である Gaetano Gadda （ガエタノ・ガダ、1900～1965）です。
マリオも父同様、師匠の父親に17年師事しました。
このようにMantova地方のヴァイオリン製作者たちを総称してマントヴァ・スクール（派）と言いますが
そのヴァイオリン製作の流れが 「マリオ」 に受け継がれているのです。
