PEDRETTI, Giancarlo ( 1955 – )

ペドレッティ (1955-    )

Giancarlo Pedretti was born in Gardone Val Trompia in 1955. After working in the field of the deluxe arms, he dedicated to the manufacturing of bows.

Since 1985 he has his workshop in his own hause in Gardone Val Trompia (Brescia).

In 1989 he won the third prize at the Baveno National Competition and in 1990 he got the first prize at the Bagnacavallo National Lutherie Show.

In 1994 he got the second prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, with 3 silver medals for violin, viola and cello bows.

In 1996 he obtained two Certificate of Merit for violin and violoncello bows in the 12th International Competition and Exhibition of the Violin Society of America in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

His bows production is influenced by three big masters of the French bow art: Tourte, Pecatte and Sartory.

Pedretti’s manufacturing is very accurate,using selected woods, always with respect to the best manual tradition of the international bow art.
