ジャック・オーディノ
Jacques AUDINOT was the son of violin maker Pierre AUDINOT, and the descendant of a long line of violin makers that enjoyed a widespread reputation since the 18th century.
Once a foreman of the Millant workshop in Paris, Jacques AUDINOT served his apprenticeship as violin maker under his father’s direction in 1936 and subsequently joined the firm Roger & Max MILLANT in Paris.
Jacques AUDINOT first took up bow making c. 1955-1960 under the direction of J.J. MILLANT.
Workshop
After Roger and Max MILLANT’s firm closed in 1969, Jacques AUDINOT established his own workshop in 1970 in Paris, located at 15 Rue de Leningrad.
Production
His style, greatly influenced by J.J. MILLANT, is inspired by the PECCATTE school and can be devided in two main periods :
– First period while he was with R.&M. MILLANT : the bows are silver and ebony mounted.
– Second period after he established himself : the greater part of his production is gold and ebony mounted.

【 Jacques AUDINOT の生涯 】
1922 11月29日フランスの Houilles で生まれる。
父親はバイオリンメーカーの Pierre AUDINOT 。父親は Roger & Max MILLANT の工房で工房長をしていた。
1936 14歳 この頃から父親の働いていた Roger & Max MILLANT の工房で見習いとして働く。
父親と M.MILLANT から直接指導を受ける。
1944 22歳 12月16日、Paulette Delacellery と結婚。
1945 22歳 9月9日、娘の Michele が生まれる。
1952 29歳 3月13日、長男の Dominique が生まれる。
1955 33歳 この頃、弓製作を始める 友人であった Jean Jacques MILLANT の為に弓製作を始めた。
戦争中は、フレンチ弓製作の生産量が落ちてしまったが、Jacques AUDINOT 以外では、Jean Jacques MILLANT や Bernard MILLANT, Andre Georges RICHAUME そして Andre CHARDON 等の優れた弓職人達の手によってフランス弓製作の歴史が再出発した。
1957 35歳 12月14日、次男の Pascal が生まれる。
1969 47歳 J.AUDINOT が勤務していた Roger & Max MILLANT の工房が閉鎖されてしまったので、彼はパリのバイオリンメーカー HOUFFLACK と提携し弓の製作を続けた。
フロッグは金と黒檀を使用したものが主流。ヘッドはハンマー型。ツマミ（アジャスター）は J.J.MILLANT のものと似ている。
1984 62歳 この頃、仕事を息子の Pascal に引き継ぎ、老後を地中海沿いのリビエラで過ごした。
1992 69歳 他界。
オーディノは最初、楽器製作を学び、後に弓製作を始め、沢山の作品を残しました。彼は毎日たったの4時間程度の睡眠しかとらずに仕事をしていたからこそ、沢山の弓を製作する事が出来、フランスの弓製作王国の復活者の一人として名前を残す事が出来たのです。
Jacques Audinotは1922年、ヴァイオリン製作者の父親のもとに生まれました。父親は当時、Roger＆Max MILLANTの工房長をしており、ジャックも若い頃から見習いとして仕事を始めます。父親とMax MILLANTから、最初はヴァイオリンの製作を習いますが、後に弓の製作を始めます。彼は、友人のJean Jacque MILLANTらとともに、戦後に一時落ち込んでいたフレンチボウの生産を立て直す原動力となった人物とされています。力強い作風の弓を大量に製作した、20世紀最高の名人の一人です。
