Bow maker
(maker: 1922 – 1989)
Roger François Lotte began making bows alongside his father François around 1936. He initially adopted his father’s elegant and traditional style, but over time his bows took on more modern characteristics and a general heaviness. Consequently, his early work is more highly regarded. Lotte remained prolific after his father’s death in 1970 and supplied bows to many firms in Paris and Mirecourt. He died in 1989.
ロジェ・フランソワ・ロッテは、1936年頃から父フランソワの傍らで弓の製作を始めました。当初は父の優雅で伝統的なスタイルを取り入れていたが、時が経つにつれ、彼の弓はより現代的な特徴を持ち、全体的に重くなった。その結果、初期の作品の方が高く評価されている。1970年に父が亡くなった後もロッテは多作で、パリやミレクールの多くの会社に弓を供給した。1989年に死去。
