The son and grandson of violin makers, Nestor AUDINOT learned the craft from his father L\u00e9opold AUDINOT in Mirecourt. He is known to have worked with Laurent BOURLIER as well before leaving for Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Early in 1863, AUDINOT began working with S\u00e9bastien VUILLAUME in Paris, the nephew of Jean-Baptiste VUILLAUME , with whom he remained until 1868. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Works<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nestor AUDINOT gained his reputation in producing fine instruments after Stradivarius and Guarnerius patterns, coated with handsome and typical orange-yellow varnish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Workshop<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1868, AUDINOT established his own workshop at 17 Faubourg Saint Denis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the death of S\u00e9bastien VUILLAUME in 1875, AUDINOT took over his workshop at 17 Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle. He married that same year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Partners and Successors<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AUDINOT retired in 1908. Eug\u00e8ne CORVISIER, his collaborator, succeeded him at the 17 Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
